Yu-Ling Cheng - Remake Learning Days 2023 - May 2, 2023
Remake Learning Days is a festival of events hosted by a variety of organizations, such as schools, museums, libraries, after school organizations, early child care centers, parks, universities, media centers, tech startups and more. These events are designed to be hands-on, relevant and engaging educational experiences for youth of all ages (pre-K through high school) and their families, caregivers and educators. The majority of events are free and open to kids of all ages.

Alan Morrison plays a recital at East Liberty Presbyterian Church on Sunday April 30th at 3pm. The concert is part of the Organ Artist Series of Pittsburgh. Alan and ELPC Music Director Edward Alan Moore stopped by the QED Morning Show to talk about this Sunday's concert; his mom playing with Joanne Rogers as the Morrison-Rogers Piano duet; appearing on an episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and more.
David Rankin - Central Presbyterian Church Tarentum - Apr 27, 2023
Warren Davidson and the Academy String Ensemble are playing a "Spring Serenade" this Sunday April 30th, 4pm at Central Presbyterian Church in Tarentum. This will the be the last concert of the season. David Rankin talks about the concert, what they have planned for next season; and the wonderful relationship the church as with the ensemble, Davidson, and WQED-FM.
Pittsburgh Savoyards - Thespis - Apr 27, 2023
Lynette Garlan and Robert Hockenberry of the Pittsburgh Savoyards talk about their upcoming production of "Thespis," which is having its Pittsburgh premiere. It runs April 28th-30th and May 5th-7th, with live stream tickets available for the 6th and 7th. They also talked about the lost music from Thespis and why scholars think Sullivan might have done it on purpose.
Lenny Young & Raquel Winnica Young - Apr 27, 2023
"Sanctuary" is a performance for voice, guitar and lute that features five centuries of music from Spain and Argentina, intersecting the music selections with sonnets by Mexican Nun Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz. This concert is presented by mezzo-soprano Raquel Winnica Young, lute and guitar player Dieter Hennings-Yeomans and actress Daina Griffith. The concert takes place at Third Presbyterian Church in Shadyside on Sunday April 30th at 2:30pm. Lenny and Raquel Winnica Young stopped by the QED Morning Show to talk about the concert.
Skylar Bunk & Rick Smith - South Hills Chorale - Apr 26, 2023
Skylar Bunk, Music Director of the South Hills Chorale, joins Jim Cunningham and South Hills Executive Director Rick Smith to discuss "And So We Sing" at Christ United Methodist Church - 44 Highland Road in Bethel Park - Friday May 12th at 7pm and Saturday May 13th at 2pm. Skylar has taken over the leadership of the singers from Phil Aley after a decade in place. Skylar is also the Director of Music Ministry at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Scott Township and he teaches at Point Park University. Skylar graduated with a Maters degree from Duquesne University where he worked with Christine Jordanoff and Ken Burky among several distinguished faculty.

This weekend, Resonance Works presents Bach's B Minor Mass. Conductor and Artistic Director Maria Sensi Sellner joined WQED-FM's Jim Cunningham on the QED Morning Show to talk about the performances, the soloists and more. The concerts are Friday April 28th at Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church; Saturday April 29th at Coraopolis United Methodist Church; and Sunday April 30th at Heinz Memorial Chapel.
